Museum of the City of London Police
A small museum dedicated to the history of the City of London
Police is located within the City Police Headquarters, 37 Wood
Street, London, EC2P 2NQ.
Archives
The museum does NOT
hold (and never has held) historical personal files for City of
London Police Officers These may be found in the London
Metropolitan Archives (LMA), 40 Northampton Road, London, EC1R
0HB.
Records for Metropolitan Police Officers may be found in The
National Archives in Kew. The National Archives also contain Old
Bailey files and other court records. The Museum of the City of
London Police does NOT hold case/trial records nor does it
hold any records for other police forces.

“City of London Police Reserve 1914-20”. Published by the City
Police HQ at Guildhall in 1921.
Three books written by an ex-City Police Sergeant, Donald Rumbelow

“The Houndsitch Murders and the Siege of Sidney Street”. Published
by W.H. Allen in 1988.
“The Complete Jack the Ripper” – covers the murder of Catherine
Eddows in the City. Published by W.H. Allen in 1987
The Museum does not retail any items. Further, Force policy
is that no items of insignia or equipment are available beyond the
operational requirements of the City of London Police.
