Persons reporting crimes can be reassured in the knowledge that
they will be dealt with professionally at all times by a
fully trained sexual offences officer (SOIT) who
specialises in this area of work.
The unit has a wealth of experience in all cultures and
lifestyles including a dedicated Muslim officer. The City of London
Police have a very modern comfortable facility known as the
Phoenix Suite where persons are dealt with on a
one to one basis with their allocated sexual offences officer
(SOIT) who remains their point of contact through their dealings
with the police.
If you identify yourself as gay, lesbian, bisexual or
transgender and wish to speak directly to a gay liaison officer
this can also be arranged through the public protection
The City of London Police also use the
Haven suites situated in Camberwell,
Whitechapel and Paddington. The Haven are able to assist in
conjunction with the police or independently if you have been raped
or sexually assaulted, they are there to help you to recover
physically and emotionally from your ordeal. Their staff are fully
trained, friendly and hugely experienced.
They are experts in advising,
supporting and treating those who
have experienced sexual violence.
The havens will help everyone, men and women, young people and
children of all ages.
You can expect to be believed and be treated with dignity and
respect - And you can use their services without having to report
the assault to the police.
