Spanish boiler room operation update

Action Fraud

Think you are a victim of boiler room fraud?

Report it online

Call: 0300 123 2040

City of London Police officers who last week helped to dismantle one of Europe’s biggest boiler room frauds are urging UK victims to come forward.

The call follows raids last week where officers worked alongside Spanish authorities to shutdown the multi-million pound ‘live’ fraud operation in Palma, Mallorca. During the raids, police seized a list containing the names of tens of thousands of potential victims, all resident in the UK.

Seventeen people were indicted on fraud and money laundering charges, including 15 UK nationals.

A boiler room fraud involves bogus stockbrokers cold-calling investors, persuading them to buy either worthless or non-existent shares or genuine shares at vastly inflated prices.

The companies police believe the fraudsters have sold shares in include:

  • Dyno Medical
  • Inca Pacific Gold and Mining
  • Viking Gold Resources
  • Everoffice SL
  • Bio Generation Ltd
  • Inca Pacific Ltd
  • B G Finance Ltd
  • IPGM Ltd
  • Darrer Nandin Operations Ltd
  • Cartwright Group.

Anyone who has purchased shares in these companies should contact Action Fraud either online at www.actionfraud.org.uk or by calling 0300 123 20 40. Reports will be prioritised and sent directly to the City of London Police.

DCI Dave Clark, who is leading the case, said:

“This boiler room was turning over significant amounts of money and all the names on the lists are UK residents so we know there are many, many victims here. Some may not even be aware that they have lost their money yet. We need to hear from these people as soon as possible.”
