Road Closures 14th July 

On Thursday 14th July 2011 Great City Race (5km) will be taking place in the City.

The race will result in a number of road closures for a limited period.

Road closures will be implemented between 6:30pm and 8:30pm

Route of the Standard Chartered Great City Race

City Road (Start), Finsbury Square, Finsbury Pavement, Chiswell Street, Beech Street, Aldersgate Street, Aldersgate Street roundabout (Museum of London), Montague Street, King Edward Street, New Gate Street, Gresham Street, Wood Street, Cheapside, Prince’s Street, Lothbury, Bartholomew Lane, Threadneedle Street, Old Broad Street, London Wall (westbound), London Wall (eastbound), Moorgate, Finsbury Pavement, Finsbury Square, City Road (Finish).

Road closures will be in place around the route from 18.30hrs. Vehicles will be facilitated across the route at identified crossing points (But not to travel along the route) until the time shown below.

• Access to Silk Street and Barbican Centre via Whitecross Street (southbound) until 19.15hrs
• Access away from Silk Street and Barbican Centre via Beech Street (westbound) until 19.15hrs

The above crossing points are anticipated to be closed for approximately 15 minutes and will then reopen after the last runner has passed.

Buses will be diverted away from the race route between 18:30 - 20:30hrs.
