A man who sold cocaine in the City has been jailed for 27 months and had his car and £15,570 seized.
Fatbardh Gashi, 34, from Hackney, had pleaded guilty to two counts of possessing the class A drug with intent to supply.
City of London Police officers on foot patrol spotted Gashi acting suspiciously in Middlesex Street earlier this year. He was arrested and a subsequent search of his car and flat revealed £13,000-worth of drugs and thousands of pounds in cash.
PC Paul Keogh, who ran the investigation, said: “This is an excellent result and should send a strong message to anyone dealing in the misery of drugs in the City – the City of London Police does not tolerate this type of criminal activity, you will be caught and prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”
Gashi was sentenced at the Old Bailey on 3 November 2011.
