Overview & brief history

The Bassishaw ward boundaries are Fore Street in the north, Gresham Street in the south, Nobel Street on the west and Coleman Street on the East.

In the south of the ward is the Guildhall, the main administrative building for the City of London Corporation and the venue for large ceremonial functions. Other buildings of note in the ward area are Wood Street Police Station, the Pewterers, Salters, Brewers and Girdlers livery halls.

The ward area is predominantly business with a few pubs, wine bars and Nylons night-club. There are also two large construction sites, one at Austral House and another at Royex House.
