history
Bridge ward is found within the boundary formed by the river
Thames, Swan Lane, Arthur Street, Fish Street Hill, Gracechurch
Street, Fenchurch Street, Rood Lane, Lovat Lane and Lower Thames
Street.
A cross section of premises includes a variety of retail
outlets, banks, offices, churches, sandwich bars & restaurants,
public houses, livery halls and a supermarket.
Some premises of note include the Monument underground station,
Fishmongers Livery Hall and St Magnus the Martyrs Church.
Of historical interest is the Monument to the Great Fire of
London, including Pudding Lane where it started, St Magnus Church
where some foundations of the old London Bridge can still be seen.
London Bridge itself is the 9th bridge at this location.
