Overview & brief history

There are no major residential developments in Tower Ward, but residents are dispersed around the ward in residential apartments. Key areas are apartment blocks in the Minories, Crutched Friars, Trinity Square, Vine Street and Pepys Street. Two of these apartment blocks are leased mainly by companies as the tenants and are used for employees to stay in as and when needed.

A growing community in this ward is the hotel business. There are now 4 hotels in Tower ward: The Chamberlain in the Minories, The Grange in Coopers Row, The Novotel Tower Bridge in Pepys Street, and the Apex in Seething Lane. A proposal has also been put forward that the premises occupied by Willis Caroon in Trinity Square is also developed as hotel.
