ACT Awareness
ACT Awareness is the national counter terrorism awareness initiative for
business produced by the National Counter Terrorism Security Office
(NaCTSO) to protect cities and communities from the threat of terrorism.
Previously known as Project Griffin, this is part of the national counter
terror awareness campaign banner Action Counters Terrorism (ACT).
The City of London Police delivers ACT Awareness Events, governed by
NaCTSO. These can be run on City of London Police premises or they can be
offered in-house to businesses within the City of London. Please see
further details below.
City of London Police Premises
These are held regularly at a venue within the City of London between 9:30am -
1:30pm.
ACT Awareness provides an overview of the following areas to give
organisations an awareness of the threat from terrorism:
- Current threat level
- Prevent strategies
- Hostile reconnaissance
- Methods of attack
There is no cost to attend the event.
Tea, coffee and water will be provided during the event and a personalised
certificate of attendance will be sent out after the event.
Due to the high demand for places on ACT Awareness at
Wood Street Police Station, we have now changed the way we manage our
bookings.
Priority will be given to those working within the City of London Force
area, please check you are within the City boundary by clicking here;
We do have a small number of spaces available for organisations that have
links within the City, but are not based here.
There will also be a limit of five people per organisation for each
session.
If you are not based in the City of London, please contact your local
police force to find out more about ACT Awareness in your
area.
