Make a referral

An insurance company that immediately wants to refer a case to IFED can email us for advice or alternatively approach a senior manager in their designated industry. IFED representatives have been briefing insurers in face-to-face meetings, so many will already have an understanding of the referral process.

Additionally, a list of designated SPOCs is currently being complied in consultation with industry. In the future this individual will be best-placed to advise on referrals, and help with the completion of forms.

Other referrals may come through Regional Organised Crime Units (ROCUs) and the Insurance Fraud Bureau (IFB).

In urgent cases where there is an immediate need for police action, insurers should contact IFED by phone during business hours, or after hours via the City of London Police’s on-call Duty Fraud Inspector (see below details).
