Financial Investigator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist pro-active joint taskforce, between the City of London Police and the National Crime Agency, as an investigator, to tackle money laundering on a local, regional and national level.

Successful applicants are to have proven criminal and financial investigation experience, and to be a qualified financial investigator.

You will be responsible in assessing and developing intelligence from a variety of sources, and utilising POCA and Criminal Finance Act legislation to restrain, and confiscate/forfeit criminal assets. In addition, for preparing evidential bundles for criminal investigations, and to undertake criminal investigations.

Essential Criteria

  • Have an understanding and working experience of proceeds of crime act legislation;
  • Highly motivated individual with proven criminal and financial investigative experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Knowledge of the National Intelligence Model
  • To be an accredited Financial Investigator with current powers
  • Experience of cash seizure investigation
  • Experience of receipt analysis and development of intelligence, including the utilisation of the SAR/DAML regime

 Desirable Criteria

  • Proven research and analytical skills
  • To have knowledge and experience of the tools available within the Criminal Finance Act
