Forensic Support Officers

The Forensic Services Department aims to recruit 2 Forensic Support Officers to work within our teams.

Forensic Services is an integral resource for the Force to respond to Critical Incidents and Crime Scene Management.

You will be responsible for the maintenance of all biometric databases on behalf of the Forensic Services department and other stakeholders within the City of London Police. You will be the single point of contact between the department and external forensic providers, ensuring quality standards are maintained in the submission of evidence as well as Biometric data as part of forensic examinations.

A main function of the role will be to update case management systems with forensic results and produce Streamlined Forensic Reports for significant stakeholders.

You will be required to produce statistical reports in relation to biometric data as well as administer financial spreadsheets relating to budgetary activities undertaken by Forensic Services of for which they are responsible. This will include creating Purchase Orders and liaising with finance teams regarding the payment of invoices.
You will also be required to undertake other Forensic processes as directed by the Forensic Management Team.
Essential Criteria:  
It is expected that you will have adequate experience using IT systems such as word and excel packages, in order to maintain management spreadsheets and produce statistical reports. You will be expected to communicate at every level via email on a daily basis.

Desirable Criteria:
Ideally, prior experience and knowledge using PNC, Niche case management systems, Ident 1 and CBIS, or other accounting software would be desirable. 

The criteria for the interview process will be structured around the Policing Professional Framework (PPF) testing candidates against the Personal Qualities contained within the PPF profile.
