Head of Force Engagement and Performance - ECD

The challenges of policing the Square Mile are unique. The City of London is the world’s leading international financial and business centre.

The City of London Police is currently looking for a talented and enthusiastic person to join our team working to the National Coordinator for Fraud and Economic Crime for 18 months.

The National Coordinator’s Office vision is for every Police Force and regional collaboration in England and Wales to have an effective and appropriate response to countering economic crime and fraud. The post holder will work with the National Coordinator and their deputy to:

  • Promote the role of the National Lead Force (NLF) and co-ordinate NLF messaging to the law enforcement community and stakeholders.
  • Develop and promote consistent service delivery models that are locally adaptable and aligned to the National Policing Vision 2025.
  • Identify and engage with stakeholders on policy, regulation and legislation to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the policing response
  • Identify, develop and share good practice
  • Work with HMG and partners to monitor the effectiveness of NCO activity

Knowledge

The post holder should have a thorough understanding of the economic crime landscape and current policy/legislation.

The post holder must be able to demonstrate an ability to engage with and influence key stakeholders many of whom will be holding senior positions.

The post holder must be capable of developing, implementing and promoting national strategies for fraud and economic crime.

The post holder must have excellent, written, oral and presentational communication skills.

Experience and Essential Criteria

The post holder must have substantial experience in the field of economic crime and fraud.

The post holder should hold MV/SC vetting or above or be willing to undergo vetting.

The post holder does not need to reside within commuting distance of London as this is a national role. Please note that extensive travel within the UK will be required.

The criteria for the interview process will be structured around the Policing Professional Framework (PPF) testing candidates against the Personal Qualities contained within the PPF profile.
