The Tactical Firearms Group (TFG) provides 24-hour firearms cover to both spontaneous and pre-planned operations in the City as well as supporting the Force in a number of other areas. You will also support the resolution of Counter terrorism related operations and incidents

This is a rolling advert for suitably qualified ARV officers to succession plan and keep to strength our Firearms team. Successful candidates will be added to a qualified list and will be offered a position when one becomes vacant or the Firearms team numbers are uplifted.

Successful candidates will preferably be existing Armed Response Vehicle (ARV) Officers, or as a minimum standard, current Authorised Firearms Officers willing to participate in an ARV course. Other ideal skills would include, but not be limited to; National Firearms Instructor and Advanced Police Driver. This is as well as possessing operational experience, initiative, self-motivation, and a good standard of physical fitness, which are also prerequisites of the post being applied for.
