PC Mounted Branch

Role:

To provide a Mounted Police presence within the City of London and assist Divisions with high profile patrols to ensure that the existing high level of service to the Community is maintained.

The following skills and abilities are required for the role:

Essential Criteria

  • Desirable to hold Intermediate Equitation Certificate, essential to hold the Standard Equitation Certificate.
  • Proven ability to operate effectively to a high standard of professionalism in operational duties.
  • A high level of personal motivation and commitment.
  • An awareness of and commitment to the implementation of equal opportunities policies and practices.
  • Ability to work unsupervised.
  • Capability to work efficiently in dangerous/stressful situations.
  • To have good interpersonal skills and an ability to perform well in a team environment.

Desirable Criteria

  • HGV licence or willingness to undertake HGV training.    

The criteria for the interview process will be structured around the Policing Professional Framework (PPF) testing candidates against the Personal Qualities contained within the PPF profile.
