A misconduct hearing has concluded that Former Officer 436CP, a former Police Constable at the City of London Police, breached professional standards. Former Officer 436CP joined the City of London Police on 01/08/22.
There were seven allegations made against Former Officer 436CP and the misconduct panel made findings that all allegations amounted to gross misconduct.
Detective Superintendent and Head of Professional Standards Department Carly Humphreys said:
“The findings of the misconduct panel relate to abuse of power and authority by Former Officer 436CP who contacted a victim of crime via social media. Former Officer 436CP breached our professional standards.
“Trust and confidence in policing is essential. We take every action necessary to maintain our professional standards and expect all officers and staff to serve with honesty and integrity.
“The behaviours and actions evidenced in this hearing will not be tolerated by the City of London Police, and Former Officer 436CP will now be added to the police barred list, preventing him from ever working in policing again."
The misconduct panel found Former Officer 436CP guilty of gross misconduct and provided an outcome of dismissal, had Former Officer 436CP still been a serving officer. Former Officer 436CP resigned from the force before the misconduct hearing.
The outcome of the hearing will mean Former Officer 436CP is added to the police barred list, which will prevent him from re-entering the police service or joining other policing bodies.
