An accelerated misconduct hearing has concluded that former Police Constable Christopher Trowton did breach standards of professional behaviour.
The former officer pleaded guilty at Kingston Crown Court for Harassment and Burglary. He was sentenced in December 2025 to 43 months imprisonment for burglary and 21 weeks for Harassment, to run concurrently. He was also issued with a 10-year Restraining Order.
At the Hearing, breaches of the professional standards of ‘Honesty and Integrity’ and ‘Authority, Respect and Courtesy’ amounting to Gross Misconduct were proven.
Detective Superintendent Thomas Hill, Head of Professional Standards Department at the City of London Police, said:
“In December 2025, former City of London Police officer Christopher Trowton was sentenced to three years and seven months in prison for burglary and harassment.
“An accelerated misconduct hearing was held on 12 May 2026 at which it was determined that had he still been a serving police officer, Trowton would have been dismissed. His name will be placed on the barred list to prevent him from obtaining any future policing role.”
