Detectives from the City of London Police release image of man following incident of exposure

On Saturday 20 June at approximately 05.00 a 23 year old woman was walking along New Street, a side street off Bishopsgate, when she noticed a man with his shorts open masturbating in the street.

The man was challenged and ran from the scene before the victim contacted police.

CCTV enquiries traced the suspect to Liverpool Street where it is believed he got into a black Hackney cab at about 05.15.

The man is described as white, medium build, shaven/bald fair hair wearing a white collared shirt and dark knee length shorts.

He was carrying a distinctive black bag with the writing ‘Rapha’ across it.

Detective Constable Sian Astley said “I would hope that someone would recognise this man and call us so that he can be identified.

“The woman was shocked and scared by the incident and I am appealing to the taxi driver to contact us as they may have vital information that could help us trace the suspect.

Anyone with information is asked to call the detectives at the Public Protection Unit of the City of London Police on 020 7601 2940 or email.
