Witness appeal after bus fails to stop following collision with pedestrian

City of London Police is appealing for witnesses after a bus failed to stop following a collision with a pedestrian on London Bridge in the early hours of this morning (Friday 27th March 2015).

At 2.27am the force received a report of a woman having had her foot run over by a bus on the southbound carriageway just before Tooley Street.

Officers arrived on scene at 2.29am where they attended to a 31-year-old woman with serious injuries to her right leg, ankle and foot.

London Ambulance Service attended at 2.34am and treated the woman before taking her to a London hospital where her injuries were assessed as potentially life changing.

Two lanes of London Bridge were closed to southbound traffic before being reopened later.

City of London Police has launched an investigation which has ascertained that this was a route N47 bus. No one was injured on the bus.

No arrests have been made at this time.
