Today (Friday 9 April 2021), we learned of the death of His Royal Highness, The Duke of Edinburgh.
Commissioner Ian Dyson said: “Over the years, the City of London Police has had the honour of assisting the Royal Family as they have gone about their duties in the City of London.
“On occasions when The Duke of Edinburgh was present, he would take the time to speak to our officers and staff and thank them for their work, which was greatly appreciated.
“Our thoughts are with the Royal Family at this difficult time.”
