Ten people, believed to be aged between 20-55 years of age, have been arrested in connection with criminal damage at a building on Bishopsgate.
Just before 6am this morning, City of London Police were alerted by the building’s security team that 10 people had prevented access to the front and the back of the building. The protesters are believed to be from Palestine Action Group. The suspects have sprayed red paint from an adapted fire extinguisher onto the building.
The protesters have locked themselves in pairs. The City of London Police brought in a specialist team to assist in the removal of the protesters. They are all in custody.
Detective Chief Inspector Paul Doyle said:
“We arrived shortly after 6am this morning and arrested ten protesters linked to Palestine Action. Criminal damage of businesses and institutions in The City of London will not be tolerated and will result in police action.”
