Structure

The City of London Police is a local service, with a national role, trusted by our communities to deliver policing with professionalism, integrity, and compassion.

We operate through four directorates, each working closely together to deliver our service, policing the square mile and leading nationally on fraud and economic crime.

Local Policing

This directorate includes all you would expect, from dedicated ward officers to our roads policing unit, mounted branch to our police dogs unit. It is also responsible for Project Servator, a policing tactic to disrupt criminal activity, including terrorism, whilst reassuring the public.

National Lead Force Operations

This directorate leads the national response to fraud and cybercrime. It investigates some of the country’s most complex cases of fraud, sets the national strategy and coordinates the operational response. The City of London Police also hosts Action Fraud, the national reporting centre for fraud and cybercrime.

Specialist Operations

This directorate includes Intelligence and Counter Terrorism, our investigation services on major and complex and serious organised crime. The department also provides our forensic services and our international desk.

Corporate Services

This directorate supports the business needs of the entire organisation, from human resources and professional standards to corporate communications and our change portfolio team; finance, health and safety services and our estates and support services (responsible for our vehicles, buildings and uniforms).
