We have established a dedicated Retail Crime Investigation Team to focus on shoplifting investigations and identifying repeat offenders. This enables Dedicated Ward Officers to spend more time in the community, providing a visible presence, engaging with businesses and residents, and tackling local issues through problem-solving initiatives.

Action taken:
Working alongside our Cycle Team, we deliver cycle marking events, engagement stands and educational initiatives such as Exchanging Places. Officers also patrol busy junctions during peak times, providing reassurance, promoting safer cycling and taking enforcement action when necessary.

We work closely with our Proactive Crime Team to target offenders involved in thefts from pubs, bars and other licensed premises. Officers also engage with businesses and customers, providing crime prevention advice to help protect personal belongings.
