Your Neighbourhood Policing Team
Neighbourhood policing is an essential part of our policing approach, connecting our communities directly to specialist policing services. Neighbourhood Policing Teams are led by Dedicated Ward Officers (DWOs) designed to make the police more visible, aid interaction with the public, aid in local knowledge, and keep those who live, work and visit the city safe.
Every team has its own DWO, leading on the policing response to crime and disorder and being the main point of contact for visitors, residents, and businesses. DWOs also provide a consistent approach to long-term problems, working alongside officers from the Partnership and Prevention Hub.

Dedicated ward officers will continue to support and engage with the rough sleepers within the community liaising with the Corporation Rough Sleeping Team and outreach to safeguard the individuals.
